Aaaaaand we’re back! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to plan for a safe reopening that meets social distancing requirements. With the cooperation and understanding of our beloved members, we’re proud to bring you Carnegie Toy Library’s online Click & Collect service!
While we can’t let members into the library building to browse the shelves as usual, our toys (and lots of new ones!) in the collection can be found and booked through our online catalogue. Keep reading to find out more about our new COVID-safe operating system.
When does it start?
Click & Collect will commence on the following days/times:
-
Saturday 6th June - 9am to 3pm
-
Wednesday 10th June - 5pm to 9pm
-
Saturday 13th June - 9am to 3pm
Then all following Wednesdays 5pm to 9pm & Saturdays 9am to 1pm
The sessions will be divided into 15-minute slots, 1 member per 15 minutes. If possible please leave your children at home. To ensure everyone can access our Click & Collect service, borrowing periods will be a minimum of 5 weeks instead of 3.
Bookings are essential.
To return and borrow toys please book your Click & Collect session and reserve your toys online 1 week prior to your appointment time to allow for your toys to be selected.
Arrive on time.
Please ensure you arrive on time, this will allow enough time to return and borrow your toys. In order to make this service accessible to as many of our members as possible, we are unable to be flexible with booked time slots, so if you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to book another appointment online.

Here's what we're doing to keep everyone
healthy & safe while borrowing:

All toys that are returned will go into a quarantine area for seven days, after which point they will become available for loan again.

Hand sanitiser will be provided at the returns desk.

Increased cleaning in high touch areas and the returns desk wiped down after each member..

Increased open hours and allocated 15 minute borrowing sessions to allow for social distancing.

Separate entry and exit areas.

We won't be accepting cash payments during this time. If you have any fines that exceed $20 these can be paid via bank transfer - see FAQs for details.
We also ask that you follow the below safety guidelines

Please do not visit the toy library if any member of your household have returned from overseas or have been in contact with someone with coronavirus within the past 14 days, even if everyone appears well.

If someone in the household has been unwell in any way during the loan period, please disinfect the toys. Do not leave toys to soak in disinfectant as they may lose their colour.
