Turns out, if you keep borrowing toys for long enough, you eventually turn 40. 🎂 This October, Carnegie Toy Library is celebrating four decades of toys coming and going, puzzles missing a piece (and miraculously finding it again), favourite toys being borrowed on repeat and local families growing up alongside us. We think that deserves a party. 🎈 Saturday 10 October 🎈 During our usual morning opening hours Pop it in the calendar. More birthday details coming soon!

A powerful reminder that play isn't a "nice-to-have." It's essential — for kids and grown-ups alike. 💚

Our new ride-on and balance toys have arrived, Carnegie Toy Library families! 🎉 Come and try them out at one of our Open Sessions, including a ride-on trike, balance bikes, a mini trampoline, stepping stones and a balance board. They're perfect for getting little ones moving, building confidence and having fun through active play. These new additions were made possible by a $3,000 grant from the City of Glen Eira for active play equipment. Thank you, Glen Eira City Council,

Next time your little one is "just playing" — know that they're building, testing, and learning in the most important way they know how.

At Carnegie Toy Library, we love this one. Every block tower, every pretend cafe, every "I'm the mum now" — it's all children rehearsing the world they see around them. What we model matters. 💚

Our shelves just got a whole lot more exciting! Thanks to grant funding, we've added a brand new collection of ride-on and balance toys to help our little members build confidence, coordination and core strength while having a blast. Swing by one of our Open Sessions to see (and try!) them all in person. 🚲🛞 And this is just the beginning — watch this space, more new toys are on the way! 👀💚 📍 Carnegie Toy Library 🔗 Open hour + membership info at https://www.carnegietoyli

Thank you Glen Eira City Council for backing local families. 💚🧸

A little clean before you return... 🧽✨ Our toys do a lot of travelling between local homes, so a quick wipe-down before returning them helps keep the collection clean and ready for the next family. While you're there, please check all the pieces have made it back into the box too. A tiny job that makes a big difference. Thank you! 💛
